Required clinical competencies

Working knowledge of monitors and defbrillators including:

Khnowledge of pacemakers, temporary and permanent     
Management of multiple trauma patient .     
Knowledge of neurological patients care including ·
Use and interpretation of Glascow coma scale · 
Recognition of increased inter cranial pressure 
   
Care for adult incubated ,tracked ,or ventilated patients.

Interpret arterial blood gas values     
Knowledge and understanding of advanced medication used inICU eg. Dopamine,Nitride ,Epinephrine ,Streptokinse, etc.     
Working knowledge of other specified equipment common to ICU eg  
Pulse oximeter ,oxygen analyzer
Hypo hypothermia blanket 
Alternating pressure devices
Infusion control devices eg Imed ,Ivac Abbot syringe pump 
Blood warming devices 
Noninvasive continuous BP montoring devices 
Cervical tongs /traction
   
Working knowledge of nursing process     
Clinical Skills preferred but not required     
Knowledge of pediatric intensive care concepts     
Care pediatric patients on ventilators     
Establish IV     
Perform phlebotomy for routine blood sampling     
Draw venous and arterial bloods from central line     
Initiate and maintain advanced cardiac life support measures ( ALS OR EQUAVELENT CERTIFIED )     
Perform D/C defibrillation and cardio version     
Record and interpret 12 lead ECG     
Assist in insertion of temporary pacemaker     
Function as member of hospital Cardiac Arrest Team     
Manage GI bleed with Sengstaken – blake more tube     
Care for renal Transplant patient pre/post operative     
Assist with dialysis procedures eg 
Acute hemodialysis
Arterio venous hemo filtration
Plasmapheresis 
   
Perform Peritoneal dialysis     
Function as charge nurse     
Knowledge of cross cultural nursing and experience working with multi national staff group
